Audio question for graham if your still on this forum?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I dont know if your still on here, but just thought id try and find you, i bought a highline from you a year back. I have a question about the sound system, my kenwood cd player has just packed in on me it was a temporary headunit until i got another, but if you can remember when you fitted it, it had 4 extendable outputs at the back for the subwoofer wiring in the boot. I;ve just gone an got a sony cdx gt444u and it only has 2 rca output. ive been told i need splitters, but this would apparently distort the sound system and limit me to bass control and fader???

Anyway i pulled out the old headunit (kenwood) and found actually 5 thick sub/amp wires, thats what my question is where does the fifth one go??

i created a topic on audio,

if you can help i would apprectiate

it

2 RCA is normally full range and dedicated sub out.

A single RCA is normally full range source that the amp the processes via crossovers and distributes mid and high to speakers and low to the sub.

If not and you need splitters you need to either adjust via the amp crossovers if you can or fit inline passive crossovers, which are pretty shit. It may be best to invest in a new amp that will do what you want with what's available, rather than making an amp work how you want with bits and pieces that generally degrade the sound quality

sorry when i added the link to the website it doesnt come up with them. These leads cant i just attatch these to the amp wires that are behind my glove box, the amp wires dont reach the back of the head unit anyway so id need extendable leads anyway? will these distort? any top quality ones anyone would advise me on getting?
