lowvr 0
I am going to start work on the 2nd engine for the turbo set up ver very soon nowAlthough not planning on building a forged bottom end i will be using arp hardwareMAIN QUESTIONS was ...with the head coming off (as this engine having done about 108k) i thought it could do with a minor refreshSo just wanted to know what are simple cost effective things to do to the head to make it more efficient? As a minimum i will change the valve guides and seals...but i am also considering sodium filled valves- are the sodium valves going to be worthwhile? - and is there anything else that's worth adding to the list?btw i am only planning on running around the 400bhp mark...daily (i just don't like doing the same job twice)also if you guys have any links to where i can purchase the valve seal/guides as an alternative or upgrade to vw please postor any links to sodium filled valves for the vrthanx in advance
legvw 0
Got the head skimmed, and triple angle valve seats ground.I used QEP, my be a bit far for you, but i would recommend them, i just gave them my head and they rebuilt it, complete with new cat cams etc.If you ring them up i'm sure Matt can give you some very good advise regarding your set-up.http://www.q-e-p.co.uk/
