Mk3 exhaust on mk2?

Just wondering if its possible to swap the exhausts between the two cars or not?

i think it depends on what make exhaust it is an engine it is for, i had to have mk3 vr6 milltech altered to go on a mk2 vr6 if i remember right they cut the middle box and made it smaller and also make a custom rear bracket for the back box to hang on. hope this helps
