OBD1 OR OBD2

Hi

I am going to see a car over the weekend, a mk3 golf vr6 highline, mulberry purple, it is a 1996 N reg, so is it an OBD1 or OBD2?

95 and 96b were cross over years......deffo on an N plate it could be a mish mash of parts

Is there anyway of finding out if it is definetly an obd2?

obd2 have oval side repeaters instead of square

Im a N plate , oval side repeaters , black wheel arch covers but OBD2 ! good to be mixed up !!

Always thought N plate up was OBD2

Yep this one has definetly has oval side repeaters, but concenered by what craggsy has said above.

I am bit confused know so is it an OBD2 or not, anyway of telling by looking at the engine bay.

Only deffinate way of finding out is look at the connector in the dash......OBD1 is 2 connectors OBD2 has one big one, then check with throttle body
