flyinfester 0
I know it prob has been asked before but i've searched for over a half hour there and cant find the answer.Basically i bought a 2.8 vr6 golf(94) which had been lying up doing nothing for nearly a year. Ne way ive been driving it on lately and its been loseing around a litre of water every 2 days. When i start it from cold there is a big steam(from the exhaust) which gets worse as you move of but goes away as it warms, and as it warms a slight miss comes in on idle and then goes outta it as the revs build up. now this evening its missing alot so im persumeing the head gasket is now gone. now the question im asking is does the head bolts have to be renewed or just use exsisting ones when building it back together and will standard new one's do ok or do i need uprated ones as i enjoy giving it a good rev. ne help greatly appreciated and also were is the best place to get the head gasket sets and bolts if i need them.
