running problems

right here's what i've done so far,

The car was trying to stall and sometimes did even after long drives, and the revs were fluctuating badly.

So ive cleaned the maf sensor, all air intake tubes, the trottle body and the isv, there was also a makeshift oil catch tank that i have also removed and replaced the breather pipe from the engine to the air intake tube just before the trottle body.

I've noticed since doing all this there isn't as much smoke on initial start up as there was before which is nice and the car doesnt want to stall and the revs seem not to fluctuate any more

BUT

It now feels like i'm driving with the brakes on, it doesnt like it much when i put my foot down its all noise (gurgling noise) and no action.

Any ideas ?

Its an obd1 94 plate

hello mate i had the same problem with my vr6.i decided to take my car to the garage.the technician dean hall. found that the coil pack had given up+found 2cylinders down due to spark plugs.garage hall tech in horsham west sussex.its something to check hope this helps .....jason...
