ErxT 0
Hi everybody!I have a problem with my crankshaft. I own a 24v vr6 engine (code BDE) and I need it to be refurbished to the repair dimensions (0,25), but the problem is that I cant find any conrod bearings or bearing shells (or are they called thrust bearings, not sure) for my engine. So what I would like to know is if the 12valve engine's crankshaft has the same dimensions as my crankshaft. So I could use the bearings from the older engine.PS! Sorry for my language. I come from a place called Estonia and English isn't my first language. Thanks in advance,Ergo

ErxT 0
Thank you for your answer. I got hold of a friend who works at the vw dealership and he looked up the exact part codes for the crank and the bearings aswell. As it turns out, the 12v and the 24v share exactly the same parts, but for some reason the factory hasn't added the repair dimension bearings to the list. I hope some one else benefits from this thread. Cheers!
