krave 0
I have got a schrick on the vr I have at the moment, was not working properly the other day, then was now playing up.Basically, the solonoid after the vacuum tank befor the mani is not opening to let the ait through. I have checked the wires and one of them has broken off. (white wire going to solonoid). if I try to puty this back where i believe it shoiul go i still get no vacuum, even when the red light comes on control unit. So its basically a case of iether the solonoid or box getting the signal out. When i touch a certain point in the box with the white wire the solonoid opens constantly even whebn the red light is off....... I am pretty certain this is because its hitting something to do with the live from ecu. . Any ideas on this people, or does anyone know where i can get info on the control unit to maybe have a look at where the wire has come off from, or maybe sauying what the two white wires are so I an work out if i can earth one maybe if its that? not sure just need some info........ . If the control box is stuffed what options of a new one have i got? Also can i get a new solonoid for on the actual manifold itself??Sorry for a long post but help would be good. Can handle the holding bck at 4000, type r pulling on me today :-(
xyber 1
Not sure about the wires, but the solenoid is an off the shelf VAG part, should have a part number on it, the vac actuator on the mani is a Ford part and the vac tank is made by Eatonyou could call stealth and if the have a control box, maybe they could take a photo of it to work it out
krave 0
Spot on for that mate, I have linked the white wire that come loose to the red going into controller, something i did earlier that only gave me constant vacuum and this time it only cucks when red light is on like it should. so I imagine this live must be triggered somewhere or something. the valve bit on the manifold that yuou can see hgets jammed a bit, i have to put a screw drivier in there to get it moving. dont know if the vacuum is not strong enough or its jammed. will investigate tomo and sort it out. I get to 4000 rpm where all my vrs have been so nice and its still pulling, but feels a bit flat. the i get to 5800 and its mental, really goes then. So im imagianing that surge should be there from 4000??Thanks for your answer again mate.
xyber 1
All depends if it's been mapped for it. May be worth cleaning and oiling the flap in the mani if it's sticking as the map and mani length as set up together so if the mani is running crap and out of step with the managment it could cause big problems
