softlad 0 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Share Posted September 3, 2009 Hi to all from New ZealandI have a 97 VR6 with a busted DLL auto this is the later auto with no dipstickThe auto trans appears to be the weak link in the VR6 here as replacements or recons are very expensive.I have been told that I need to match auto box & brain inorder for them to work.I have the chance of an earlier CTT auto box & brain, thi auto has the dipstickMy question is will the later VR6 engine and ECU accept and work with the earlier auto box & brain? I was hoping to do a manual conversion but thats not happening yet so I just want to get it back on the road Link to post Share on other sites
