Hi,

Been having a few issues which I am sure are all connected but not sure what to do to resolve them.

1.) Car just passed the MOT but with a an advisory that the front brakes were not braking with an even balance. This was picked up before on previous MOT. Upgraded the 280mm to 288mm setup. Replaced all the seals on the calipers and full flush. Still got the advisory on the re-test but it passed this time.

2.) Car is used for track use. Noticed tht when braking hard the wheels seem to lock up at different times or each wheel, even though on flat same grip surface with even tread identical tyres...

3.) ABS light intermittently will com on. Restart the car shortly after and it goes off...

4.) Rears lock up before the fronts but that is going to be the compensator on the rear beam.

Which way do I set it to allow for lower and stiffer suspension???

The car had been sat for some time before stripping down to make it ready for track use.

At the time it was a pig to get the brakes bled and we had to bleed the ABS pump or ages to get it sorted. This was 18mnths ago now.

I guess it needs to go on a VAGcom to help diagnose??

Is it the Pump going, or an issue with the ECU for example???

I don't have a vagcom.

Are the kits on eBay any good (disc + cable to run on a laptop) ?

Anyone local to Stoke-on-Trent that could lend me one to test?

Anything else I can try?

All help gratefully received.

Ian

If the ABS light is coming on it could either be a wheel sensor has gone or the pump is on the way out - vagcom will tell you which :)

Also the bleed nipples can be a total pain and I ended up replacing mine when we did the brakes but just bleeding the pump won't be enough and you will need to bleed the brakes themselves.
