GraLaw 0
Hello, a challenge for you all.My car has the standard plugs for my new stereo. Problem is the cable colours don't match up and I have two cables loose. The car has two blue and whites and one connects to the orange and white on the radio. (?)One brown and red that connects to the yellow. (?)One fat brown I assume to be the live which is loose. (?) One fat red and white which is loose. (?) What the hell is going on? Now the fuse has blown in the radio. Some one make sense of this please?

xyber 1
only way to do it is to get a test light and work out which is permanent live, switched live, earth and remote live, that list look right thoughsound like somebody has been tinkering with the ISO in the past though
GraLaw 0
Yeah I havn't got a test light or meter at the moment. I always lend my tools out and then need them 2 or 3 days after.Another point to make is some cars you have to switch the red and the yellow around. There's no other mention anywhere about the car's colours being different. Is it just my car?

I think thats right! I'm not infront of my car so i can'r guaruntee the info!!!

GraLaw 0
All done, found the switch line was dead. Joined the red and yellow together till I can sort the line out. Also found out the factory speakers are pretty poor after the quality ones in my mk4.Thanks for the help.
