Benattwell 0
my car overheated the other day, there are no signs of head gasket going i.e mayo in oil cap, smoking. i had my cousin look at it and he says there may be a blockage somewhere,we started it up when it was cold and it wasnt overheating and the top pipe that the coolant goes throw was hot and the bottom one was cold until we squeezed it then it became hot.im kinda confused to what i can be i have heard the thermostat goes in the vr6.plase can someone help, thanks
thegoth 5
stuck 'stats do happen and the symptoms match. but the squeezing suggests a possible airlock.
Benattwell 0
yeah we got all the air out of it and took it for a burn cos it didnt overheat even with climate on hi, you rekon it may be to do with the water pump or something fixable?
thegoth 5
the commest problem with the water pump is that the blades fall off. in which case I would have thought it would always overheat.
