rahkee 0
i had the bonet open yesterday and it started to rain, after i closed it i started the car and nothing, i get a funny hissing noise from behind the speedo and the clock resets its self sometimes i get a clicking noise from behind the speedo or maybe a hissing and then clicking, its all very random but the engine wont start or turn over at all. the battery is perfectly fine it might be the starter motor but that doesnt explain the clock resetting itself, maybe its a faulty ignition switch does anybody know how to test it? ive tried to bump start the car with 4 of my mates so plenty power but still no start. maybe water just got into the electrical components. has this happened to anybody before? Bigjobbo 0
Hmmm a bit coincedence this one. Was it the rain or has something gone while you lifted the bonnet? Would suspect water ingress first. How long was the bonnet open for? Was it drenched?
rahkee 0
well it wasn't open for too long no more than 1 min, the engine wasn't really drenched either but the rain was heavy, i remember also as i started it my finger sort of slipped off the key (dunno if that would've caused it) so far ive tried looking today aswell checked the fuses and ignition wires still nothing if it was water wouldnt it have evaporated by now?
