xyber 1 Posted March 19, 2009 Report Share Posted March 19, 2009 put it this way, say it takes 50 man hours to respray a car all in (very conservative estimate) at £30 an hour in labour cost alone (also conservative)By the time the car is stripped down, blemishes repaired (rust spots, parking dings, stonechips etc) sanded down, primed, colour coat, sanded, clear coat, flat back and polish any minor inperfections (dust, condensation, runs etc)reassemble50 hours is swallowed up easilymine had 3 rust blisters the size of a pea and a small patch under the windscreen that we found when it was removed and one on each door shut under the rubber seals, none were anywhere near bad, 80 hours to complete Link to post Share on other sites
