veedubyah 0
Hi there people's just a quick question....i need a new alarm/immobiliser for my 97 highline and don't know which one to buy, to go for a clifford or a toad. Can anyone recommend a decent one please, and also any manufacturers who offer vr6oc members discounts by any chance
soul-2-soul 3
Always been a Cifford man even though I recently got a VR with a Toad A606i on it. Think the general feeling is that Toad's are more reliable & you forget that they are there once fitted. While the Cliffords have more bells & whistles which can lead to them being more troublesome than the Toads. Not aware of any premium member discounts on Alarms - could be wrong & I am sure someone will correct me if I am. veedubyah 0
ye thanks for the info mate, i've been thinking of gettin the clifford avantguard 5.5, but i've never bought an alarn before who do you think will be the best place to get it from as the prices i've been quoted vary from £1000 to £549, and also would need this to be fitted so can you recommend any decent companies to deal with
kie_dub 0
try falcon, they do good quality alarms and are cheap, you can get remote start for like 100 quid i think. they do pager systems, trackers etc but alot cheaper than clifford. You can basically get what clifford offer for cheaper. I personally have clifford fitted but have alot of hassle because nobody will touch them because they are a pain, i paid 40 quid for someone to adjust the proximity and check it over, it was in 20 mins and it was done! and now its still too sensative (the clifford that is) i cannot put my alarm on on the main road, car parks or any other busy place as it just goes off if a leaf blows past.
