My First golf. Clean VR6..opinions please.

Recommended Posts

Hi i have just got my self a mystic blue 1996 vr6 with full vw service history and only 88k on the clock,

I got it cheap because it needed some minor things fixing on but they are all sorted now. After the first week i had the local paintless dent remover go over the whole car removing every small dent or ding so every panal is now perfect.I also got myself some pressed plates. below are a few pics. opinions please. Also if any one could give me a rough idea of how much it is now worth i would appreciate it. thanks, Mark

difficult to put a value on it m8...in the current climate its all based on what someone is willing to pay which is prolly not a huge amount... but that shouldnt affect your enjoyment of the car... and thats what its all about

i agree with moochalargo...post some bigger pictures so we can see it properly;)

thanks for the comments guys. I do really like the car and it sounds awsome but i expected it to be a bit faster for a 2.8 v6 would i notice a difference with a new exhaust and manifold. i might look into getting one next payday. also where would be the best place to run the cold air feed for my induction kit from?. thanks

They are not the fastest 0-60 but it is more about torque, however I must admit that an exhaust makes a significant difference, my previous vr was an OBD1 with 101K and was chiped (ebay job), it had a k&n cone with a miltek exhaust and that was alot quicker than my highline whcih is standard.

Best place for cold air feed is to remove the carbon canister and run a pipe through there.
