Bobtrude 0
Hi, i started noticing some weeks ago that my Vr6T had a judder/missfirer, but I did´nt think much about it at the moment. . . . . Then it got worse, MUCH worse, It was like being shock like a dog when giving it some stick. It was worse when going up a hill and shifting down to a lower gear while accelerating. So i searched the forum and after some tome i decided to take a look at the coilpack, it had a small crack in it so I bought one new from fleabay. http://global.ebay.com/gbh/viItem?ItemId=140271096735 Not that expencive i imo. costs 500quid from vw in Norway. It cured the problem and my vr is as good as new:). And it pulls smother aswell:).

Bobtrude 0
Hi there, no sparks or arching, even with water on, so i guess you dont have to see them. Its quite expencive, but it will break after a while, so my advise would be to get a new one. Or try your friends coil that works. It REALY runs like crap when u have this problem. got a new grunt to the engine with the new one, lets see if the mpg drops;).
Damo 85 0
yeh mine is running absoultely crap, no power, judders low down and lmpy right the way through the revs, exhaust temps seem higher than normal whic i believe indicates a missfire too.. might borrow someones coil just to see
Bobtrude 0
What causes this is apparently that the lack of spark from the coil. The spark is constant, but the injectors differ the amount of petrol squirted into the cylinder, so if u accelerate hard it gives more fuel. If u then have a weak spark it wont ignite the fuel and your car goes like four buckets of feces. With bigger injectors I guess the problem gets worse!
