my vr6 takes a little while to start if you know what i mean...the lad who i got it off said it only started doing it when he put a cone filter on?? it had a new started motor a week ago aswell...iv bought a airbox to see if that fixes it...could it be the air flow metre??/ the bit that joins onto the airbox

mine takes a few seconds to start when cold which I'm now happy with because it does in the end. but if you say it's only just started? unlikey to be MAF I'd say. but try disconnecting it to see if thigs are better or worse.

also could be coil in the same way as the coilpack is an easy target for the later engines, and just a coincidence it happened with the filter change.the mk3 16v coils fit
