amazak 3
My vr was lowered around 2 months back and it has not been driven much since. Recently I have noticed a strange noise from the front offside. The noise is rather strange and defo was not there prior to lowering it. Also it is rather wierd to describe as well, it sound like rubbing and is a bit like a vibration? Anyways I was wondering if the top mounts or the bearings would cause this as they were not replaced when lowered. It was lowered using dampers and springs and the noise is only evident on bumps not matter how big or small they, furthermore the camber aand tracking has not yet been done but I very much doubt that could cause it??Thanks
Drizz 0
I have a similar issue. Nothing appears loose or damaged, but mine doesnt increase with more bumps, its evident on normal roads. I cant feel it through the steering or brakes etc, just hear it and feel it on the floor. Checked the exhaust hangers and its all fine and doesnt touch.... We had the prybar out to see if anything moved while on the ramp and nothing. Only thing that seems odd is when the car is on the ground, the top mounts are about 10mm from the car so you can jack it up and the top mount drops and rests on the car. Ive packed this out and doenst appear to make a difference. Any idea?
amazak 3
Actually I think you might be onto something, strangely enough this hapened almost immediately after an oil change was done which meant the car was jacked up, also I noticed my top mounts are resting quite high. Will have a poke around and ask a frined to look as well. Furthermore it does not only happen on bumps, occurs on normal roads as well. Just drives me crazy!Let youknow how I get on. Back on standard stuff! In that case I will be changing mine as well, however I am not convinced it is the dampers! Maybe will just buy one as a test??Thanks for the response :
