the other day on my way to work i noticed a wierd banging sound on my car, it keeps banging all the time probably every second or something like that. it sounds as if it is coming from the drivers side front. it only does it when i go over 20mph i know its not my exhaust, part from that i dont know what it might be, the car drives fine tho. it sounds like im driving over a rumble strip thats how i can describe it. any help will be greatly appresiatied.

thanks saichy

i couldnt see anything that looked out of place when i had my wheels off the weekend. the noise doesnt change if going faster or slowing down but seems to stop around 20mph. im lost with this noise now i hope that its not anything to bad. i know my front bushes are more or less gone would that male the noise?

the gearbox is ok never had a problem with it, goes into gear fine never jumps out of gear or anything like that.

doesnt sound like a bad idea but im abit worried about having my car on stands and running it, where is the best place to put the stands if i decide to do that? anybody got any pics of where the perfect place to put them?

I always place the stands on the round section when you look under the car at the front as the sills are usually crushed. just make sure the wheels are clear of the ground, handbrake on and to make 100% sure once off the ground spin the wheels to make sure nothing catching, Let us know how you get on?
