gkjnr 0 Posted March 7, 2008 Report Share Posted March 7, 2008 my vr6 is idling fine but when i try to pull away its like a kangaroo but if i press the throttle further it goes ok, i,m not getting full power but its not too bad ,when i come into town its back to kangaroo juice again ,anybody any ideas , i,ve been offered a replacement maf from the same model ie obd1 but the numbers on the top of it are different will it be ok cheers for any help guys Link to post Share on other sites
tomsmith 0 Posted March 9, 2008 Report Share Posted March 9, 2008 the symptoms you are describing do sound like that of a dodgey maf sensor. Ive had a few cars in for repair in the past that have the problem. It basically makes the car run weak. I know it works for the hyundais and some bmws but just try taking it off and giving it a bit of a clean out with some carb cleaner. A couple of times ive done this and its worked.
