Eko 0
Right this VR6 OBD1that ive got has no spark/fuel.Was supposed to have the codes read today but for one reason or another the guy doing it couldnt.Anyway put a decent big battery on it with a full charge, been using jump leads to try it previous.Cranked it over to try and could here a relay going erractic when first cranking...5 seconds or so.Turns out its relay 109 which from my searching on here is for the ECU?Are these prone to failing on these cars?Is there any test/bypass/bodge I can do to see if its that stopping it firing up?TIA
Eko 0
Still no show from code reader guy today so giving up any hope of seeing him know.Anyone know how I can eliminate the relay as faulty or not ie bridging the terminals etc?Did try bridging pins 30 and 87 today and made no difference but no idea iif thats right or not, just going off an E30 trick. james4287 1
yes, 109 relay is a firm favorite. pull off the cover off the relay and clean the terminals inside. 9 times out of ten this works, but they're about £20 iirc.
Eko 0
Did pull the cover of it this morning and it looked fairly clean in there and no obvious damage, nothing that stood out anyway. No harm in having a second look though which ill do tomorrow!Cheers james
