mikki 0
HeyWhy is it that certain mk3 vr6s have bigger stock exhaust systems than others?also how would i go about finding out what my VR would sound like with an exhaust on...heard some VRs tend to make a purrrrooop is this because of a K&n air filterand some just have a deep smooth vrooooop.....im looking for just the vrooop sound...i was told maybe run two 63mm pipes ?! or so bigger injectors ,polished ports and gas flowed heads??do square muffler heads sound different to round muffler heads (tail pipe)Backfire-or at least heard a couple VRs make a pop sound when reved to about 3000-4000 rpm and some dont why? thanksCheers
rodney 17
I thought all were the same size! That said if you fit any replacement system then these are not all made equal. So there may be some variations in manufactuer types compared to OEM. Also don't forget you can fit a made to measure stainless system made to look stock. Sounds - I like your discriptions.... If you get a bit more of a deep tone then usually this is down to several reasons. Sports systems have been fittedStainless steel systems fittedInduction kit fitted - though you can usually hear this as a different sound - think mk1 Escorts on rally sceneIf you add a manifold this will also deepen the tone.Volume is controlled by the number of silencers (Mufflers) you have in the systems.Popping is not normally a good thing and usually down to an imbalance in the fuel air mix and set up or your silencers are starting to break up internally. That said if you go for forced induction and the likes there is usually a little burble type pop on the over-run due to the high fuel levels/rates involvedWilst these are of course generalisations I hope it helps you find what you're after
