THE SUMP

I got the engine hot, so the oil was up to temp. (Tap the sump before anything else)

pilot holed it, the went up in drill size until it was the right size hole. Let the oil drain out of thre hole until below the level and remember itll be hot!

covered the thread tapping tool in grease and started cutting the thread slowly

wipe way oil from the area then screwed in the fitting along with a dowty washer (copper and rubber dual seal basically, with a smear of grease both sides)

then did an oil and filter change to get the swarf out(remember to take the oil filler cap off b4 the sump plug comes out)

refitted new ECS magnetic sump plug and chucked in oil

ran for 50 miles (2 weeks use for me) the did another oil and filter change

Its never leaked, had no problems and got all the swarf out on 1st change as there was none on the second

or you can take the sump off the car and do all the work like that and braize the fitting on to seal it
