vr6 adz 0
hi,just bought a 92 vr6. its a 3 door, 83k, fairly standard apart from coilovers and induction kit, needs a bit of paint on drivers door and rear quarter ( faded paint ) reason unknown but i suspect those panels have been re sprayed badly at some stage in its life. its appears to be very straight other than that with no sign of rust. it needs a new rubber seal for the sunroof (i understand thats fairly common!) the thermastat housing has been replaced, im told they are very weak. it drives very well with no engine rattle and no missfire but i would be vary grateful for any advice on things to look out for. id be interested to know if there is anything on an early vr6 to look out for. cheers. mike 6
hey, i had an early 94 vr6, it was quite bad for rust, i took the arch trims off and they were rotten underneath, also have you checked the sills? and inside the tailgate. mine had loads of breathing problems, but sounds like yours is a better one. vr6 adz 0
yeah checked inside the tailgate and its rust free, ran my hands around the arch lips behind the trims and there was no sign of rust, sills appeared to be fine too. dont get me wrong its not mint but for the money (£1400) with the miles and only 3 owners , two of them being neighbours, its seems a good base car. i guess time will tell. i pick it up saturday so ill get some pics up asap
matth76 1
Sounds very good mate...excellent mileage for its age! Has it been serviced every year (as I would assume it has covered less than 10k miles a year, in which case it would need to have been serviced every year)?
