matty 0 Posted June 29, 2007 Report Share Posted June 29, 2007 My compressor has developed a leak and a new one costs about £300I have found a nearly new compressor for a Mk 3 Golf at a good price and have been told that I can change the clutch assembly and the end where the pipes connect for those on my old compressor and it will be OK, because all the "middle bits " are the same (for the same compressor manufacturer).Has anybody done this and if so what are the snags please?Also is it difficult to get the old one off my car please and where are the fixing bolts - it's not very obvious looking in from the top.Hope someone can help - there may be some more hot weather soon!!!
