Fuse blows fairly rapitly after being changed. Started off not very often but not happens fairly rapidly.

I know i posted this on an interior thread, but i thought this forum would be more appropreate. :)

A suggestion is the reverse switch is kaput, but i need more help than that. I am only a newbie to the VR6 world which i have entered and wanna know lots and lots.

Btw Great site and i agree that it should require payment for membership.

Bingo! I got an answer to my fuse blowing, not sure if it is the best answer but it has fixed it.

My alternator was over charging my battery, which being just a novice thought was rediculous. Anyway, my battery eventually died due to the alternator and when i had both alternator and battery changed. The windows & reverse light worked again!

Maybe that fuse going is an early sign - thou it was a year.

Well, I am unsure. Since the weather has turned the fuse has started blowing again. I don't know if some wiring or somethng is being effected by the cold and then blowing the fuse.

I am starting to think the change of altenator coinsided with the change in weather last spring.

If you have any ideas I am also still looking for an answer.

thx

sounds like a short between live & earth on the feed

to probably the window switch, take off the rubber sheath thingy between the body and the doors that houses the cables and check for any nicks on the cable insulation.don`t put a higher rating of fuse in than what is intended,as that`s how u fry shit.
