Guest camper driver
Replaced head gasket and when we resett the timing didnt take into account the centre timing sprocket. When i started the car up it sounded like a loud diesel. Stripped the top end back down and set the timing how it should be. But top end of the engine sounds like a hammer and chisel. I let it tick over for an hour then took it out for a drive, its absolutely gutless and rattling and knocking. I did a compression test and all cylinders are around 140-160 psi which is consistent. this would suggest ive not bend a valve etc which i presumed may have happened.I,m lost what to do next. matth76 1
The Phirm mate or Stealth should help if you can get to either or at least give you very good advice over the phone. Could be the tappets not having filled properly with oil but that shouldn't affect your performance - only make it really noisy.
