ABS Light & Logic 900

Help! VW dealer cannot trace problem with intermittent ABS warning light staying on. Wheel detectors checked / replaced, electrical connectors cleaned and suposedly checked. Threatening to now replace ABS unit at £700?? Warning light can remain off for days then suddenly plays up. Noticed that when Logic 900 alarm times out when keys removed from ignition ABS alarm light has very dim glow. When it does and alarm resets sure enough I get the full on ABS alarm when engine is fired up and ABS monitor completed. Suggests an electrical interface problem? (which may not be cured by ABS replacement??). Oh, and on occassion also get the handbrake parking light coming on with the ABS alarm on - yes VW dealer has replaced the handbrake switch and brake fluid level cap. Any help would be appreciated even if it is a trusted fixer who knows about these things - preferably London / East Anglia area for the latter.

my abs light is doing this at the mo.did it 3 years ago too. had 2 of the sensors changed then an independant garage diagnosed abs ecu. changed that. problem solved. till now. think i'll bung a secondhand one on myself. i'm sorry mate but i think you're looking at a big bill.
