DundeeDub 0
Not driven my car for a while and for some of the time the handbrake was left on.It is now siezed on, the car still runs ok but you can feel its holding you back, plus you can only pull the handbrake on 2 notchs now. What I am wondering is can it be fixed by taking things apart or is it easier to get new calipers. If I was to get new calipers i might consider doing an up-grade.The car is a Vento VR6 and it still has the early 280mm fronts, if I upgraded the rears I would prob want to do the front also. I don't want 17's and want to stay on 16's, so they will need to fit under these.Any ideas on how to fix or a brake set up.
mike 6
What size disk you upgrading too? 288mm will be fine on 16s
DundeeDub 0
don't know what size, looking for ideas, seen a 315 set up but guessing that won't fit under 16's
mk3anni 0
312mm setup from the audi TT will fit under 16s no problem.
craggsy 91
312mm setup from the audi TT will fit under 16s no problem. They didn't fit under my Borbet T 16s.l Will need 10 mm spacer to make wheel clear caliper, which means I gotta get arches flared

craggsy 91
I know what your saying mate. They fit perfect behind my Porsche 928s so i'm happy, but gotta sell Borbets
DundeeDub 0
Would prob be using some 16" teledials or 928's for winter and some porsche gotti splits in the summer. All should clear due to offset and need of adaptors, couldn't remember what disk size was ok though. The kit i'm looking at has 315 disks instead of the tt 312 so am guessing that it will be fine and clear also. Just need to find the money for the kit now Also is it worth uprating the rears if the fronts are really good?
dubloke 4
not reealy worth uprating the rears at all tbh, just get decent pads and standard discs. rear brakes only do around 35-40% of all the braking needed anyway. will be very tail happy under braking otherwise!
