drnick 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Report Share Posted August 27, 2006 after finally pulling my finger out ive started work on my vento. changing the brakes and wishbones and bushes! namely the last one as was told it failed these on the mot by the previous owner but he couldnt find the failure sheet! after jacking the car up i went to place it on axle stands and found out the sills are completely fecked! now im wondering whether to carry on and get it checked to see how bad it really is and it all welded but i dont know how much this will cost! any ideas? or just to strip it and use the parts on my mk2 golf! the car was cheap £300 & so far spent about the same on parts so dont know if its gonna be worth gettin the welding done! its a k reg with 130k miles and the engine sounds ok! please help as wanted a vr but now gettin disallusioned! Seademon 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Report Share Posted August 27, 2006 I dont think 2 new sills will cos that much to be honest - my mate took his car to the bodyshop and to cut the old sill out, weld in a new one and paint it was £70 Link to post Share on other sites
