NEILX5 0
Hi again Guys! Sorry to keep asking all these questions but am new to all this exhaust talk.Need a new exhaust and cat but the high flow cats are almost £300 but decat pipes are only £80, is there a great deal of difference between them. Also changing the cat over once a year how hard is this do do yourself at home?Cheers again!Neil
matth76 1
A decat and high flow cat yield about the same amount of power..maybe a fraction more with a decat. To be honest you will hardly see any increase with either... unless you go supercharged.
VR6_Absy 0
It's easy enough, only 3 bolts and a U clamp but awkward as car is on stands. Biggest problem is getting the Lambda probe out without stripping the threads, these babies can weld themselves in. I've loctited my old sensor into the CAT and stored it away, bought a new one for the bypass. My Cat bypass was £50 frorm Longlife and probe was about £70 from VW.
