  1. Yes I've been running the car on half tank for about a week now, no noise at all coming from the pump, not one that can be heard when the seats are on top of it anyway... As far as I managed to research what this hose is about, it should create siphon effect between the two parts of the fuel tank, the non-fuel pump side was almost dry when we opened it, compared to the other side which had the pump fully submerged... Will put it back together in a week or so and see how it goes....
  2. Ahaaaa! So I have to unscrew the right side put this plastic and then screw it back... or can I slide it without unscrewing? I just ordered another suction pump thats on the other side of the tank (its not new) and the hose still whistles just like the old one, I just cant figure out why????? Why are they whistling like that and what do I need to do to fix it, there is NOTHING inside the hose, I can see from end to end, if there is no way to fix it I am just going to put another ordinary fuel resistant hose to get rid of the whistling..
  3. Found the problem and it was not in the pump, rather one of the hoses. I assume that this will only apply to a 4motion vehicle, since the fuel tank is different, there are two hoses that join the two parts of the tank, one of the hoses whistles when you blow into it and theres NOTHING inside that hose, I can see from end to end inside it, its not clogged, its completely empty! How is it possible that this hose can cause this noise? One of the sides of that hose goes on to a valve thats on the left part of the fuel tank, but the other side of that hose goes on a plastic piece that I don't know
  4. Hey guys, I just replaced my fuel pump because it was driving me crazy with all that whining and I thought it was about time to sort this out. I purchased a brand new VDO fuel pump, installed it, turned the key on and..... it whined just like the old one!!!!!!!! You can hear in the video bellow how it whines. A few things to note: - I have no loss of pressure (both old and new pumps are holding steady 2.5 bar) - Fuel pressure regulator is working perfectly (unplugging vacuum brings pressure up to 3 bar as per specs) - My fuel tank is half full, so the whole fuel pump i
  5. Allright, I think I am asking the wrong question. I was just watching my coolant temperature with VAGCOM and I noticed that fans started spinning at around 98 99 degrees (celsius) and stopped at about 95 degrees, is this the expected behavior? Also I tried shutting it down at about 98C and the fans kept spinning for about 20-30 seconds, so I am guessing that it just manages to keep itself cool and thats why they dont spin a lot after I shut it down?
  6. Hey, sorry I forgot to mention its mk4 vr6 24v bde engine code. Lately I am even noticing that if the fans spin and I sbut down the engine the fans also turn off sometimes...
  7. As the title says, how long should the fans spin for after the engine is turned off? Mine spin for about 30 seconds, I have the low speed resistor fix in place and it works (didnt have low speed for a while), also have fresh coolant, new water pump, new thermostat and new coolant temp sensor, is this normal? I've been driving it for about an hour before I shut it off and the fans spin for only 30 seconds, I am pretty sure that in the winter the fans were spinning for a lot more than 30 seconds..
  8. I really have no idea exactly what was wrong with the injectors. I suspect that they were leaking when they were hot as I had the issue only when the car was hot. I tried testing them on a bench both cold and while heating them with a heatgun, I just could not get them to show any sign of problem infront of me, yet after I changed them, the problem disappeared and the problem started after I had them cleaned ultrasonically. Your problem may be different, coolant temp sensor maybe?
  9. The problem is Solved, it was the Injectors (I changed all six). Ultrasound cleaning, never again.
  10. I am pretty sure it won't prevent the chatter, OEM or not, the chatter happens because since the DMF is gone there is nothing to dampen the vibrations, the clutch has springs on it but its not enough, the gearbox was calculated with the DMF damper, not 4 small springs on a clutch (its not a weight issue for sure I weighted both clutches and they had almost no difference, and I would expect the solid one to be much more balanced than a flywheel that is made up of several parts). The chatter is only when the car is idling (and its not all the time) or if you are driving on first gear and very lo
  11. I converted my 24V MK4 to the Valeo solid mass flywheel kit, I won't do that again if I had the chance. Gearbox rattle(chatter) started, I know its not harmful, but its annoying, the car is silent and this just takes away of the charm of the car (also takes away the smoothness when changing gears). Also, changing gears becomes more "solid", its fun if you go out for sporty driving, not fun at all for daily driving, also when taking off you'd need a bit more RPM and hold them a bit longer if you want the smoothness that you had previously, basicly it makes the car a bit harder to dri
  12. Hey guys, I'm new here! I have recently did a rebuild on my VR6 and while we were rebuilding the engine, I had the injectors ultrasonically cleaned, now I have hard hot start issues. No error codes (the only error codes that I have are for the heaters on the post-cat o2 sensors, but I had these before the rebuild aswell, so I doubt this is the issue) I have replaced the coolant temp sensor, seems like the old one was fine And the car has hot start problems if it sits for 30+ minutes, if I press the accelerator pedal a little it starts easier The hard start can be expla
