Hi! Bought Storm shell last October and just finished with the other half the little homegrown vr6 conversion/reshell project. C's on the road for the first time from the last 10 years! The next step is to supercharge it  Slowly collecting bits &  pieces and some money for the remap  Hoping to get it done by the end of April. 
Got rotrex which was literally found by the hubby on the scrapyard, ribbed pulley, oil cooler and waiting for the injectors to arrive (Green tops Bosch),
1. what else do I have to add to my shopping list? So far I've got
Silicon hoses, t-pees, auxiliary belt, oil canister, re-circ valve, Rotrex traction fluid. 
2. Will the standard vr6 fuel pump be good enough?
3. Any recommendations where to buy Rotrex Traction Fluid? 
4. Is there any other place Pipercross can be place than just under the bumper? I live in Somerset where roads are quite often flooded and placing Pipercross worries me a bit.
 

 
Please don't be confused by a blue engine bay - the car come with repainted bonnet (at least on one side) and had to swap the damaged slum pannel,  yes it will be repainted. well at one point

I would be massively suprise if they find a rado without faulty sunroof in this price range ;-)Prices for all spare parts they claimed - guess they have been very'very lucky bidding on ebay :-P

Ah yes! Haven't posted in here in a long time. A lot of updates. 
Biggest one being the car is dead. Last winter while on a massive road trip I took a threaded rod through the engine block. Audi quoted 16k for a replacement engine. Thankfully insurance covered it under road debris. SO the car was written off
 
Here is a bit of its last journey. 
 
The drive to Vancouver. It was a lot of fun and the car is amazing in the mountains. Good send off for a car to die I guess?  At my mom's before hitting the road  Since it's a 3.2 of course  Oh Scenery  More gas  Wildlife bridge!  Fun mountain roads!! I will say traveling on Christmas day the highways were dead!!  Bathroom break  Next morning at my sisters place in Vernon!     And probably my favorite picture of the old car.  

Just a few extra advices for rado vr6 buyers:
 
Body:
* Check for a rust on the rear hatch around the rear windshield and the bottom area of the doors.
* The rear spoiler should extend/retract around 55mph.
* Check the state of the roof gators. If they're perished it might cost you a few more $ then you expect.
 
Interior:
* Look for broken/worn out seat bolsters (especially the driver's side).
* Check if you get a first aid kit inside the armrest of the back seat and the emergency triangle hide between back seats. 
* When checking electrical windows don't be surprise when you try to operate both of them in the same time and they don't work. It's not an electrical fault - windows have been set up this way by the factory - you can use just one of them.
 
Engine:
*Some later vr6s need a bit longer moment to start and it's ok. As far as the engine idle ok and sounds sweet on revs it's nothing you should worry about.
* The badly maintained cars often get cracked chain guides. So listen to any rattling when you start up on the cold engine
 
 The most common electrical issues:
* Inoperable radiator fan
* Sunroof doesn’t work
* Rear wing doesn't extend
* Automatic seatbelts don’t work
* Flickering headlamps
* Wipers don’t work (all rado's get a problem with a standard set of wipers and lots of people upgraded them for a lupo's set). The wiper arms don’t have enough tension against the windshield and when you try to use them, they’ll just smear the water all over. There are available a few fixes online showing how to trim down the spring inside the arm to apply more tension.

Don't think they would of let me stay mate . There was Arabs walking about with watches on worth more than my 3 bed detached . It was a millionaires play meet I think . Security weren't happy as they said there is strictly no photography . And helicopter ride ya jammy b stard !! I love helicopters . Shame mine takes 4 triple a lol

Once you went in you should take off a high vis and pretend to be an average spectator   booked a helicopter flight on sat, so i'm quite curious about the whole experience.

I done a delivery there ages ago . Matt Neil was there drifting a veyron on track . There was 5 slr mclaren mercs there a good few million pound cars . Enzo.s etc well I was walking about with my hi vis jacket on etc taking pics . Next thing I know is security came over and kicked me out . I had to drop my trailer and leave . Great place though

Couldn't live with the red so have gone gloss black,ancilerys will be sprayed satin black with dbp racked,inlet and boost pipes..
How it used to look

tbh if you can i would advice to buy a whole donor car (they are not bad price if you source one with damaged body panels). it will be so much easier then sourcing part after part and wondering what element is going where. and you can always sell off all bits you don't need to your conversion.

Vr6 parts are still far cheaper then audi a4's   and as guys say you can always find lots of them here so I wouldn't worry too much. 1994 vr6s are exactly the same good as every other year ones.

I'm new here. I'm from South Finland and I have had Golf mk3 VR6 2.8 four years now and I have also Lupo 1.4 16V.

In answer to the question I did not take my Golf but I did get to go out as a passenger in the Yeti, it is incredible and it certainly made a few people with high spec cars feel a little inferior.
 Weather stayed dry and CC have resurfaced the circuit, all nasty bumps have gone, new surface has given better grip too.
 
 My Golf will be at Bedford next Saturday for HOW FAST, there is still a few places left on our session, it is reserved for just Briskoda, let me know if you fancy it.

Quarry is easy with AWD. Brake - power on heading towards chicane really quickly

yeah mate the life feels so unfair when vr6 just kicked your ass and you'd discovered it was women driver in it  
and it's quite unfair too when you see a good driver on the race track and a few minutes later you discover it's a girl! lol
especially if you don't feel enough brave to take your own car for a session round (true story!   )
 
I'm affraid that driving vr6 got nothing common with the sex of an owner it's more about personality  Vr6s are for the brave people!
