    I had the same issue on my VR recently, it was the ground going from the negative terminal to the block.

    A bit off the topic, if you ever get stuck for marine bits you can go see CGA or h20 aquatics in your neck of the woods, there pretty good I get stuck I go down there or ADC in the city.
