  1. A big thank you to VR6Pete and the team for arranging a fab day on Saturday, all the cars looked great, including mine of course! A real experience being up on the old Brooklands banking too, just fantastic.
  2. Sachs is a good choice, I have a Sachs in my MK1 and would go for one of those again, the TechniClutch came recommended so thought I would give it a go! I have KW coilovers on the VR, they are fantastic, you will love the ride...
  3. I have recently put a TechniClutch into my VR6 Syncro, very happy with it overall, it was recommended by a friend of mine, John Grogan who owns and runs his own business in Slough, Volkswagen Repairs & Tuning (VRT). John is a trained VW mechanic and technician with many years experience.
  4. My VR6 Syncro has just returned from a little run to Cornwall, 770 kilometers without a hick-up! Passed it's MOT last weekend, it has a little oil leak from the rear diff, just misting at the moment but will need to look into it!
  5. Decided to drive the VR to work this morning, just washed and polished it and it looks fabulous, going to rain tomorrow but hey!...
  6. Have a fantastic time at Stealth Racing, I have not been there for some years!
  7. For your information, I have just bought two new rear light cluster seals from VW directly, £14.00 the pair. I can't help on the torque setting, I just 'nipped' them up. Best of luck :-)
  8. For my sins, I am an Estate Agent and lucky enough to own my own little Estate Agency and Property Management company in Reading!
  9. Your Corrado sounds very nice VR6pete, I hope all goes well for you, I bet you can't wait to get behind the wheel and and put some miles on it :-) I am only using my VR6 Syncro as a weekend and evening car now, keep the miles off it a little bit, it is coming up to 160,000 kms! I have just got an Audi 2.0lt TDi Technic as a company vehicle so will run round in that for a while! I have my VR insured with Adrian Flux, they have been quite reasonable price wise and don't mind it being modified or imported, I did shop around but many insurance companies didn't want to touch it!! Have a good day to
  10. Good luck with the MOT :-) Unfortunately I will not be able to make the GTI Spring Festival as will be travelling back from Ireland, the next show for me will be Stanford Hall, I have a lovely 1983 MK1 of which I will hopefully show at Stanford Hall and Stonor Park. Stanford Hall last year was rained off, they didnt update their website to say it had been cancelled so I travelled up only to be turned away at the gates along with many other people! And, at Stonor Park, it rained all day so...I have my fingers crossed for some sunshine! :-)
  11. Hello there...I have just had to replace the heater matrix pipe on my VR, I thought it was the head gasket! Very pleased it wasn't as I only had head work done a couple of years ago with all new genuine gaskets! VR6Pete, I am sorry I didn't get to see you on Sunday, I did meet up with one of the chaps on the VR6OC stand, very nice he was too :-) What a great show, so many amazing cars, mine was in the car park...filthy from the drive up!! :-(
  12. Hi there...If anyone is interested, I attend a club meet on the first Tuesday of every month at The Running Horse, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12 2UJ. I have been attanding this meet for over 20 years, it was originally our Club GTi meeting place! The numbers have dwindled over the years however, we do get a dozen or so regulars who are all in the VW scene, some are VW Master Tech engineers with many years experience and run R32's, VR6's and a host of other VW's (the odd BMW might appear!) LOL. It is a good night, a good menu of varied food at reasonable prices (for those of you wishing to eat of
  13. Yes indeed, I am planning on coming up on Sunday so will look you up and say hi for sure 😊
  14. Well...some inconsiderate 'person' has tried to steal my front crystal indicator units and whilst doing so, has broken the wires to the back of the bulb holder, so close that I can't strip the wires back and put a connector in to re-connect them! As they are after market items, the genuine VW bulb holders do not fit and so I have had to buy a new set of light units of which I have fitted today...We are back on the road again... I hope all is well with you all and enjoying your VR's! Get polishing, Ultimate Dubs is just around the corner, fingers crossed for some nice weather for the drive up!
  15. Hi there...I am sorry to hear about the internet issues! No worries, I am sure things will be resolved in the not too distant future. I did receive my welcome pack, membership card and window sticker, thank you for that. Best regards...Bugharris.
