A couple more for the record. The mkII is my previous motor as mentioned in the initial post. Since my ownership she has lost her '90 spec' trim unfortunately.

Pictures needed.

I'll be present at this but camping with a mate in the slum area. I'll maybe slouch past and say 'Ola!' at some point before the usual descent into debauchery.

Because for me they would look stupid with two handles on each seat and with handles in a car that does not need them. Still, if they do indeed have handles on either or both sides I can save some money by not having them.
-
Seems like a pointless thing to do, anyone know why they woul bother?
-
I've got a dude telling me that Recaros all had the tilt handles whether they be 3 or 5 door seats. I'm smelling poo but am I right?
-
Ta man, all these modern gizmos are too much for me.
-
Stupid question I'm sure, but don't VAG have these? I'll have an ask at work anyway pal, the part number should make it easy.

That is a handy link man. I'm hoping to ditch both of my funbags, if I take the passenger one out andl leave it out (resistor at wkend) am I in danger of the driver bag going bang?

Front tyres/arch friction
gandhi replied to gandhi's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
I haven't got a clue how low it is in quantifiable terms, its pretty fecking low though. I didn't lower it and as I don't know the standard height I'm guessing here. I believe the offset is 38 and I know the tyres are 205/45r16. -
I'm usually fairly self sufficient but have found a question to share. My fronts scuff the arches when I'm on the twisty bits and I'm wondering whether 195/45 r16 on the front instead of 205 might stop it or am I going to have to raise the coils?

Neither am I. A quick wash

Washed her

Ok, the story begins when on my way to the pub in my mk2 8v GTI I found myself without a clutch. As I grumbled about the cost of getting this done a guy at work offered the use of his workshop and his help for a small fee which I accepted with some alacrity. As we talk about the job it becomes apparent that he wants to get rid of his VR for something cheaper to run. At this point I half jokingly offered my GTI and a clutch in exchange for his VR. As you've no doubt realised, he only bloody accepted! Deal done and a couple of days getting the feel for her I have come to love this BBW. Ragging
