I've been asked if I can supply short shifters for the Golf Mk3 as I already do for the Corrado Forum, link here -

The Golf shifter is very similar to the Corrado shifter but they are NOT the same or interchangeable, I've taken a Golf shifter and a Corrado shifter complete with the Ali mounting frame and compared the two and they are very similar.
 
The details are -

Forward and back reduction only.
Neutral to gear select reduction of 20mm (26%). It's only a mild reduction to prevent notchyness and excessive effort required to change gear.
All worn parts replaced.
Use your existing gear knob.
Mechanism cleaned and greased.
Install guide provided.
Sold on an exchange basis only.
If not completely satisfied, return the shifter for a refund.

If you require feedback please see the above link on the Corrado Forum.

Price is £90 posted with £25 refund on the return of your shifter to me providing it can be re-used.

I can modify your shifter if it is sent to me but it needs to be in good condition, I will need it for around 10 days, cost for this is £70 posted back to you.

This is more of a feeler – any interest in these fuel pipe holder brackets for the VR? These are the brackets that attach to the left hand side of the rocker cover, the fuel pipe holder clips onto this bracket. See photos.
These only fit the alloy rocker cover.

T304 Stainless Steel mirror polished by hand on both sides and around the edges.

Price is £17.50 posted for a pair.

Hi, not my kit, I don't sell them on Ebay.
 
I do still sell them on the Corrado Forum though and here if anyone wants one but my price for a pair is double the price and always has been. In my defence I've had one of those kits and it's not as good as mine but yeah I would say that wouldn't I? Being honest it really wasn't a nice piece of kit, you have to insert an extra washer in there which was very fiddly on top of an already fiddly process. Once fitted the handle was very stiff to operate and I bet they don't offer a fitting service either?

Can I kindly ask those who have bought a shifter and not returned the stock item please send it back as I'm getting alot of requests for short shifters. Don't forget you get a £10 refund, return postage can be as cheap as you like. Also let me know if you don't intend to return it so I can cross you off my 'returns' list.

Yes install is as per the Corrado.

Just got back from Matt's place. As said he's very happy with it and it does feel good when shifting between gears albeit sat on his drive without the engine running.
 
So I'm happy to supply these but need to modify the Corrado install guide to suit the Golf.
 
For me to successfully supply these I do rely on standard shifters being returned to me.

Update - I've dropped the shifter into matt yesterday for him to trial it, I await his response.

Bit of a delay with this but hope to get it moving again in the next few days.

I've had a forum member come forward to tryout the shifter who is fairly local to me so hopefully I'll be doing it this weekend, just need to confirm a day and time.
