michael5556 reacted to al_mooring in Al's mk3 vr6 turbo build
So not a great deal to report at the moment but managed to get the engine bay properly emptied and swapped the tyres from the RS' onto some steels to get the car back on all four wheels.
And also had my steering UJ lengthened as apparently this one was suppose to be a manual one..... Obviously not!
Slowly piecing together an old battered interior to put in the car whilst the cage is been fabbed up and sent more bits off to be carbon'd haha

That's a brave move turning down a rebuilt bottom end ky! I'd have bit the fellas arm off!
Still, I've got a brand spanking vw bottom end and Pistons sitting in my garage crying out to be made up, I need to find a crank and rods first though!

Well today was a proud moment I was offered fully built engine block, but turned it down because I want build everything so I can be totally satisfied and to that end I have booked my block in for boring to 82.5 and skimmed and cleaned and ordered a brand new set of wossner low completion pistons and I have been looking at some con rods but can't make my mind up can anyone recommend a good set ?

Last few days I had been thinking long and hard over the engine bay and whether I had done the best job I could of done and the answer was no lol
So with that I have decided to flat back the bed liner and spray it properly with the new car colour, but since I was starting to put a lot of effort back into the engine bay things spiralled and so I have now been welding up all the holes on the firewall including the heater box, brake servo etc
Progress is slow but I feel as if the engine bay deserves some colour and I will feel better every time I open the bonnet

@jd's thanks for the advice man, but why not try r32oc for more specific answers to your questions which only you know. Why not try asking a question for us to answer? We may just know it. There are many wise (and old) r32 owners on here. Most of them already know everything they need to so hence why the little amount of questions on thus section.
We have 12,000 regular visitors on this site and if you don't ask, you don't get.
That is not a constructive post. That doesn't give us advice on what to help you with or how we can be of service. Frankly it's just rude. Please be more constructive before you get yourself banned.
Peace out. xxxxxxxxxxxx
