  1. Thanks guys, I left a £20 deposit on saturday. The bodywork is all mint etc... and it seemed to drive well, etc.. I was surprised to learn that it was still on the original clutch, etc.. I hadn't come across a clutch that lasted so long in a performance car. I have become a little concerned about various posts in relation to the timing chain change at 100k miles or so. If it means I spend a few hundred more and get a vr6 with lower miles, or one where at least the clutch/chain has been done, so be it.
  2. Pete thanks for the quick feedback. Realistically, in your experience though, should I be going into this purchase aasuming that the chains+clutch will need doing sooner rather than later? I was surprised that the clutch had gone so long without a change. If so, is £2100 for a 1995(M) reasonbale? what sort of cost will the chains+clutch pan out at? Regards
  3. I am about to buy a *MINT* condition VR6 with FSH and 120k miles on the clock. It is on its original clutch and original timing chains. The clutch is neither slipping nor the chains rattling. It has been regularly serviced by VW. Should I be worried about this? It is a 1995 (M) for £2100
