  1. You would think...unfortunately not all VW owners are as smart and on top of things as others haha
  2. also note the "ish" at the end of "explodes" lol
  3. I guess the reason why I usually say just do all 4 if you can is exactly what you mentioned about tricking the Haldex into engaging 4wd, I've seen a few of them fail prematurely (ok maybe "blow up" was a bit strong lol it just sounds funny to say!) because the clutch is constantly engaging and disengaging, and creating quite a lot of heat, and wear and tear..not saying that they all do, and those situations are usually created because the owner has vastly differing tread heights on his tyres, just in my experience it happens more frequently, and replacing 4motion parts is never a cheap endeavo
  4. just saw the "4mo" part...in that case I would recommend all 4...better than risking expensive parts failure :-\
  5. hope i'm posting this in the correct thread, someone please let me know if i'm not. i've got quite an annoying problem with my B4 passat (or mk3, mostly the same), when it gets cold outside, as it is now, the door latch (not lock!) freezes in the "open" position (as in, when you pull the handle), and it is then impossible to close. this results in a combination of furiously slamming the door to no avail, fervent swearing, and in some cases where it won't unstick, you must drive while holding the door shut. not exactly comfortable. Also, just to clarify, the locks work fine, and i have not (ye
  6. Glad to see the links are working..we don't have a forum yet, so we're just using our facebook page for correspondence. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how to start a forum page yet. I'm sure its not overly difficult, I just haven't tried yet.
  7. You know, this is quite strange, because there is supposed to be a menu bar on the top of the website with a bunch of other pages, but I've had about two or three people tell me that this will not show up for them. For everyone else I've talked to it works. Just to prove I'm not blowing smoke lol here's a link to one of the other pages: http://michianavwaudiclub.com/Michiana_VW_Audi_Club/About_Us.html Try it out and see if that one works. Thanks for checking though!
  8. So a friend of mine and I started an owners club here in America for our local area, and while its going very well (our first meet had 20 cars!), we are very new to this, so I figured I would post something on this fantastic site asking for any advice, wisdom, pointers, etc that anyone on here would have. I know there are plenty of you out there with experience in this area, so please by all means don't be shy! Here is our website if you'd like to view: http://michianavwaudiclub.com/Michiana_VW_Audi_Club/Welcome.html, and also our facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Michiana-VWAudi-Cl
  9. Just came across this thread, this thing looks fantastic! Well done..I'm sure it sounds terrific haha
  10. actual bmw headlights...it was an absolute pain but well worth it i think
  11. Been meaning to post pics and such for a while...heres my 1996 Passat GLX VR6. No major work yet, Just an intake, new tyres, custom front Euro plate, BMW E36 headlamps, and smoke taillights. Tell me what you think! The day I bought it: As it is now: B4: After!:
  12. haha I'm sure it helps to actually have fuel in the tank when you are tuning the fuel trim! 8-)
  13. also off topic, but just wondering if your fuel problem was ever sorted? great build by the way, quite an inspiration!
