  1. For the flat part that should be stamped? On the left as you look at it right down between the block and chassis leg.
  2. Even at £30 its worth every penny Edit - whoa just looked on amazon, more than they used to be.
  3. Did you clear any codes after if you disconnected the battery and those codes came back again? Cos you can get them just from taking the terminal clamps off.
  4. You're obd2 aren't you? If so why don't you just get the 312mm carriers and 312mm discs?
  5. Supposedly there's one on the block on a flat part right near the gasket on the aux belt side. Can't see it on mine though, my rocker cover has all the engine code and number info on it on a sticker though where the fuel lines run.
  6. Redline in the gearbox is a revelation isn't it.
  7. I'm just using ebc black pads and haven't crashed so far lol
  8. Drilled discs are for heat dissipation and grooves are for clearing the pads. Sure yet look cool but I don't think they're particularly necessary and they up the price a lot. Drilled discs can crack and groove discs can squeal too. My philosophy is pretty much a disc is a disc, buy some cheap gsf ones and concentrate on the pads. But other people's views may differ from mine. The fronts and rears are different yea, also the fronts are different from OBD1 (280mm) to OBD2 (288mm)
  9. That was the first thing I thought, and the bad irony
  10. In the most awful way too, terrible.
  11. blue smoke on overrun would indicate valve stem seals
  12. There are a few kits available from febi etc or there's the more expensive genuine. You get JWIS with genuine which are pretty much the best you can get.
  13. Weird as the diagram looks exactly the same as the vacuum diagram.
  14. Tbh I don't know. It only gets 1 live then all the rest are grounds, it seems to activate off the switched ground from the drivers door wiring harness.
  15. Looks a bit like the A59 rear
  16. It uses an air pump located behind the drivers side rear light.
  17. If there aren't any leaks in the gasket then you could leave it and do the timing chain kit instead if you don't know if they've ever been done, especially as it could be at 130k on the originals.
  18. Yea that's supposed to be one piece hose, you could just get a double ended metal hose connector to join them up.
  19. What's the mileage on the engine and do you have any history of any work carried out in the past?
  20. Never ever seen that before no, when I first saw it I thought it was a mistake and its fit a mk4.
  21. I thought this was the collection of tools used the most? I am unfortunate that my everyday tool requirements don't include using my grinder, which I love to, grinding anything is awesome haha. My pie chart would be a 50/50 of rearranging so everything's nice and tidy, then 3 or 4 weeks later doing it all again cos I just chucked everything back in and shut the door lol
