  1. Did you go to kwik fit? They don't charge if they can't get it working
  2. Yea that's what reminded me to get the tickets ordered
  3. Gain access to the back of the lock that you want to make universal, ie the same one as your ignition. Put your key in the lock barrel then take the c clip off the back of the barrel push the barrel out with your key still in it. The shims are spring loaded so don't take the key out til you're on a work table. Take note of the numbers and order of each shim ie 1,7,4,5,5,3. Then reassemble the barrel and reinstall. Repeat this process for the locks that need a different key, only changing the shim numbers and order to match the combination of the first one. Then you will have all locks tha
  4. I should think you would gain the same difference between a 2.8 and 2.9, about 15bhp

  6. It's not really an option like I've said I wish it was, I've got my harewood tickets booked today so it's definitely with me till then, maybe one last hurrah and I can adopt my child away to someone. (The golf not my actual child)
  7. I'm not saying that there is on a stock engine, but if you wanted to run a colder plug you would need the 6 code, any colder and you're going into FI territory to run as cold a plug as that.
  8. I think possibly the worst job is selling it, I look at it every day and just know it's going to have to go, it's like I'm interviewing them to see if they will do a good enough job of continuing this cars legacy, not gonna fucking rust paint the bonnet and put a set of pink banded steels on it and a kiddies trike and miners lamp on the roof.
  9. It's in the for sale section and I have a build thread on here too in members rides. I think the title is my black Vr6 - black headliner now in. That is a complete journal of my ownership of the car.
  10. Definitely worth a baffled sump if you're gonna be tracking it a lot
  11. If you want colder get BKR6E the lower the number the hotter the plug
  12. You need a mk3.5 cabriolet steering wheel to fit a mk4 style 3 spoke wheel to your mk3
  13. I have a golf VR for sale
  14. The shims are all numbered, all you have to do is copy the number code of your shims.
  15. BKR5E are enough if you're running stock, they are copper instead of platinum but a set costs about £14. Platinum are supposed to last for 40k but that's so long, change the copper ones at 20k and it's still cheaper than a set of platinums.
  16. looks like the guy was deep in the K hole, hallucinating hits tits off
  17. looks like a very expensive pile, mine was nearly a grand and didnt have as many parts ! But at least youre doing it the correct way, genuine

  19. After the body work and respray it would have probably been cheaper to just buy the X5
  20. Up to 1 litre per 1000 miles, by VWs statement, is acceptable. Personally mine doesn't use a drop, but it's right there in the handbook that this can be the expected consumption.
