  1. I've been troubleshooting the cooling and found this - see photo This is the 3-pin plug for the rad temp sender (2 stage), and it looks knackered. How would you go about replacing this?
  2. Thanks for this! It's a 2 stage setup (no air con) The ebay expansion tank fitted, and the level sensor plug is now connected and working. When checking the temp sender, I noticed something - see photo - how do I tackle this? I'm thinking of replacing the temp sender anyway, but what about the plug?
  3. No luck with VW Heritage - they don't stock new. I'm going to gamble on the eBay one, and failing that, I'll have to settle for the US import. I think the blue cap I have still seems strong, which is good. Next, is tackling the rad fans as they're not coming on at all. The whole rad body has been replaced, as the old was weeping. Not sure whether to get a leccy involved for checking sensors, loom, fuses, plugs, etc. I can't think the new rad has come with issues, as the old had fan problems anyway - but at least the fans came on with the last one.
  4. I've had a reply from an eBay seller, confirming their expansions tank fits - "The parts in the listing would be suitable for your model" https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/e12052.m43.l1123/7?euid=543bba846bd9425ab704f1713af4b661&bu=43142049928&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fpages.ebay.com%2Flink%2F%3Fnav%3Ditem.view%26id%3D112327051883%26alt%3Dweb%26globalID%3DEBAY-GB%26referrer%3Dhttp%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F0%2Fe12052.m43.l1123%2F7%3Feuid%3D543bba846bd9425ab704f1713af4b661%26bu%3D43142049928%26cp%3D1%26sojTags%3Dbu%3Dbu
  5. I also thought the German market would be my best bet, but same result. Unless I'm using the wrong number or search terms. The mk4 upgrade sounds interesting. I will check the American link out as I'm willing to use a stockist, wherever they're located.
  6. Hi all long-time member making slow return to the OC. I've had my 97 mk3 SORN'd for quite some time - with marriage, babies and career taking over - and it's sadly been neglected, especially with a lease as my daily. First job is cooling. I'm looking to replace the expansion tank with a new, but they are nowhere to be found. The current tank is stamped with 021121407? Any recommendations?

  8. So I'm getting my front wing panels replaced. And I need the new panels rolled so that they stop touching the tyres. What do you suggest is done about the arch lining, because it will have nowhere to fix to once the panels are rolled? Has anyone added any extra fixings so that the lining doesn't fall off?
  9. Well, I said earlier in the thread I was going to convert. We'll see what happens in the next 6 months. I've had a quote from Auto Gas Yorkshire, which are based in Hull, about an hour from me, £1500. This includes BRC equipment, which they assure best quality (3yr warranty). I asked if they've worked on a VR before, and they've worked on Ford Galaxy versions. Looking at the PDFs they've sent, the tank is a cylinder that sits behind the rear seats. Can I ask, for those that have the tank sat in the spare tyre well, where's your spare tyre? They've also said it will take them at least 2 da
  10. Ah ok. I would say Sky too, been the cheapest year after year. Good luck with your search
  11. Why have Sky said no? Not being nosey or anything
  12. Pics are shocking, can't believe it. Bros was saying what happened. Any updates? Out of interest, who replaced your windscreen, how much. I need mine doing.
  13. Payday! Before this cash disappears... I want to get my BBS rs's finally bolted on. But, I need some spacers to help clear the brake calipers. How do you go about getting the right size? I'm looking at Venoms FK spacers, just no idea what size to get? Cheers
  14. Yeah sure. You want 140mm triangle paper if youre getting some
  15. I've got one in the garage, but I used all the paper when I polished the manifold. You should be alright with wetdry round wooden block.
