I did a post back in 2014 about changing to a ford coil, I will see if I can find it.

Hi, i think that end is the thermostat? if it is you should have 2 sensors or 3 sensors if aircon. really fiddly to get to if it is them. take a look at this -
it could be a knackered thermostat housing as these are rubbish plastic or leaky crack pipe.
if in doubt swap it all out shouldnt be more than = £80 including sensors

Hi, i have heard mostly good things about Redline MT\MTL for the transmission possibly worth a look. as for the knock is it a knock or a bang? i had a bang when giving it some beans and it was a dodgy engine mount, try it in gear with handbrake on to check movement or get a jack on the bottom to see how much it moves

Hi All, stripping the old stuff out the Rado to go haldex so will have some bits left.
VR6 Syncro gearbox (02C) rebuilt less than 1000miles ago new seals and bearings, it has new diff planetary gears, ARP diff bolts, the gears and ring gear have been shot peened and superfinished also has a lightened flywheel.this has a modified cast iron transfer box from (rallye) which has been serviced and converted to fit bolt in cups this mates up to a Syncro rear diff.
i have the receipts for the box, parts and rebuild. i may have driveshafts but the prop has been re-used i also have the original Mk3 syncro transfer box.
it will be removed in the next week or so and is currently at the Phirm, it comes from a running and driving car.
looking for £1200.
thanks for looking.

Hi All, took the lady for a well deserved bath at the local Eastern European car wash, scrubs up well! Also fitted re-trimmed headliner, mk3.5 visors and trimmed moon roof shade. Found out when removing rear trim that a previous owner had the rear passenger quarter glass changed and managed to glue the window to car and the entire length of the rear trim and most of the b and c pillar trim!
just need black sunroof controls now, missed the set last week on EBay ?

Not for long journeys unless the stereo is loud. They whine like a touring car. I went with diesel final drives in mine, 1st 35, 2nd 74, 3rd 110 etc, on paper will top out at over 200mph in 6th!

I think it's the torque that's done it. Around 725 nm it's running. Looked into gearsets which say they good for about 600 :/. Will be going for big power/torque next year aswell.I have a spare box which I'm throwing in. Then the broken one will be done up to a higher standard. I did speak to this guy. Very helpful.
Sounds like the torque bent the shaft so the 4th gear came away a bit and stripped the gear, I read somewhere that it can take 10 ton before it bends with a solid insert it will take 30!
i had a quaiffe gear set before and when I spoke to them the the gears are no stronger than standard, that was the semi cut one not the straight though. Bloody noisy as well!
good luck.

Picking up something from a guy in Colchester and he has 2-3 reasonable nick steering wheels. I will post his number if anyone wants one.

Hi, how did you manage you manage that, the drp's are supposedly the best box? It's all about how much you want to spend? I have just had mine built with a quaife, solid input shaft, 4th gear support, 02q selector forks and diesel final drives cost £2k. I hope to run 550-600, if it was more I would look to shot peening and superfinishing and cryo treatment.
I used Gas'n'gears in wales, known as HotGolf on the gti forum, top man!
let me know how you get on
