  1. the clutches on the vr dont have a cable as they are hydraulic, it may be worth getting your clutch bled, same principle as bleeding brakes, if that doesnt work you may need to investigate further as it could be the slave cylinder or something like that wearing out... but im no expert!! lol
  2. Its one of the premium member benefits to get the guide on how to reset it.... one of the many benefits you get for your £15 membership fee... maybe its worth considering signing up... then i can send you it!! :) Gotta keep some things special. this site is more than worth £15 to any vr owner in my view, ive had so much help from here and the discounts pay you back pretty much straight away anyway!! :)
  3. really impressed with that ben, think its really well done... great info and pics... and a worthy car. and thanks for the compliment Helen!!
  4. Ive got Gaz GHAs on mine which are just over 500, then you can adjust the ride height and also how hard/soft they are to suit you, and you can always change the height if you aren't happy. There are some other good sets out there, but i wouldn't like to advise as i personally haven't experienced them. but mine are mega!!
  5. i second that, if you're going to do it do it properly...
  6. yeah the reviews are great, that's why im goin for them, doesn't bother me that they dont last for years, they arent too expensive either i dont think really. def a winner... 2 weeks isnt long to wait!!
  7. read this http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?313789.post
  8. Could u live with the wrath if u didnt? :-# :-* I have heard great things about them, just that they dont last as well as others, but i think they are worth it, i am guessing you have tried black circles yeah??
  9. na thats bad info anna vr6 is rubbish and untrustworthy!! lmao only jokin... she's a good old gal... well known to the regular forum guys and also a regular at our shows... id second what pete says!!
  10. to be perfectly honest i dont know. the hpi check is a reliable source for sure and if it has service history and MOTs to back up the milage then possibly it can be wrong, just be thorough with the questions you ask and remember there are loads of nice vrs out there so if it isnt totally clear about its past and you want one with a clearer history, then one will come along.
  11. maybe a chat with the owner might clear some stuff up, the MOT certificates should be able to confirm the milage, and service history... also if you get a full hpi it will tell you a lot more... if you go to view, just be sure to check chasis numbers and engine number against the V5 just to be sure you know what you are getting.... but then i am extremely fussy!! lol
  12. yeah me too... i have tried 3 number plate checks and it is not recognised anywhere, you're best bet is to do a HPI check on it, you can tx one for 3 quid it tells you the car, how many previous owners and simple stuff... if you are serious then a full history check is about 20 quid i think.... id def do it on this one! haha.
  13. well it def isnt a highline, thats for certain. highlines were only made in mulberry or black.... and i would check if it is an import cuz its def not normal!! haha... the VR6 badge on the back is different, its got the OBD2 side repeaters, but the OBD1 style arches and side trims, not normal for one that late, and they are saying its a 2000 model??? S reg was 1998 wasnt it?!
  14. Have you got some pics cuz even though the vr was produced up unitl 98 i thought it was only on an R reg... i may well be wrong, but also the arches only remained on the gti's after 1995.... Your best bet is to do a HPI on the numberplate and then you will know for sure...
  15. im gonna go the haverhill way, its the same time on the map, but 12 miles closer, so its easier for me, plus im meeting someone on that route.... so shall i just meet u guys there??
  16. yeah, we'll just starve... lol. no pressure mate, im sure some garage sarnies will be ok for one day.
  17. Those guys are right near me and come to the east coast dubs meets, ive seen some of his work and it is good... dunno what it is you're looking to get done, just carbon fibre look vinyl wrap or if you are thinking of getting real carbon fibre stuff made.... ??
  18. na, that sounds like a rubbish idea... you will live to regret offering to do the food mate as now we've experienced your food we want more!!! Why have cotton when you can have silk huh?! lol
