  1. I had the same problems as the oringinal post^^ also a lack if power, I took it as the headgasket, decided it was a good a time as any to replace with a uprated gasket, took everything apart, after reading this I'm begining to think maybe a little more coolant may have been better, but that doesn't explain the lack of power, wen I removed the head the fifth cylinder looked as tho it had steam cleaned it's self! Any ideas,
  2. put all the parts I have for my obd1 engine back in the bay, I'm missing the wiring loom for the radiator fan and radiator sensor, and I'm having trouble findin a belt to drive the second fan from the twin fan radiator, does anyone have a part code for the wire, and does anyone have any ideas about different lenghts among the differnt car models, the belt I got from the dealers was too short (I assumed the engine being from a mk3 golf that the belt would be, I asked at the dealers and gave the fan part code but they wernt much help) we fired it up before we left just to see how she was running
  3. I've recently bought a obd1 engine can any post up a pic of the distributor and number the firing order. To our knowledge the firing order is 1-5-3 6-2-4 but we don't know were each lead sits in the distributor cheers
  4. while searchin for a engine I came across a non running mk2 with a vr6 already under the bonnet. Snapped it up for 800quid. So trailered back to Sheffield, took front end off and tried to work out were to begin. Not having any history of the swap and not having been completed isn't helping. We've got power onto the coil but no spark? At least the engines not seized.
