  1. I wonder if that's something people without VR6's would consider sad... lol. Well, it's based on my own reaction. Sarah and my parents were watching it too. Out of the blue I shouted "VR6!!!!".
  2. Just wondering. I know there was a Jetta in The fast and the furious but I don't think that was a VR. I was watching Green Street last night. There's a scene where they arrive at the train station to go to Manchester and the car they're in pulls into a space. Mauve golf and with the way it sounded, position of the badge, made me guess it was a VR. Any others?
  3. Turds are charging me £150 more this year even though I'm now 25 years old. Yet only charged around £890 when I was 21/22.... over £500 less than this new year. Makes perfect sense, robbing ********!.
  4. Just got mine. Turned 25 in june. Lisence held for 7yrs, clean, 9yncb on the accelerater schemes. Somewhere near £800 for me as a 21 year old to insure it. Last year it was 1280ish. Now it's due again, 25yrs old..... 1390 FC..... lol...lol...lol. Admiral nearly got my custom with a quote of 775.... then came the 11 monthly installments of £121.... Being 25 means nothing now. Country is a state and needs to be blasted to death. ETA; Adrian Flux are taking 10 months of 125 pcm. Last year it was £114.
  5. sorry allan. I cant believe I didnt say that in my post. Glad your alright though buddy.
  6. Sorry for being nosey Allan but how did it happen? Can it be repaired with bits off here?
  7. Cheers all. Seat position is altered with inner backrest, not the outer part of the seat. Front belt is either longer or the rear seat is too padded.
  8. Another mini monk is due on boxing day. Problem is that the newborn baby seat only fits in the front seat. Seatbelt extensions are a no no to me because they are not recommended for babyseats and that the belt is only 3 or 4 inches too short. Does anyone know of a longer belt that would be a direct replacement from say, a mk 4? Failing that, companies that are legally approved for extension adds to the belt? Thanks
  9. I have to say I like giving it some on sliproads. Especially long wide ones. Usually short lived though due to legal restrictions.... Only 530 BMW or 330s knocking about around here.
  10. Can lead to plod issues depending on how loud she sounds afterward.
  11. 11.93v, to me, means that your battery is not being charged buddy. Had the same on my passat and it sat at 11.93 for ages....untl I went for a drive wth music blasting and had no juice. If you're buying off the bay, make sure you give your cars build year and/or engine code. They should have the year of car/engine that the alternator fits or replaces. 90A instead of 70A is fine. Look for the alternator for your car... 91 - 94 ect.
  12. Black VR6. Running on what looked like Paul parkys old 5 spoke alloys. Twin dtm exhaust. Crystal/dlea old rear lights. Went from A4600 to henley green road, wearing glasses. Blue passat behind that gave you a thumbs up and a quick flash of the lights was me.
  13. Indeed I used to H Trouble now is that the passat is sooooooooooo slow, I can't do that anymore Back on topic though, why does your car not have an o2 sensor?
  14. I ignore that stuff now. Most of the stuff I experience or use to, I tend to laugh at now. It was usually the non D/C or M-way that I had it. I'd be doing the limit and people in small engined cars would break the speed limit and slowly try to speed away when alongside me. Most of my prior driving use to involve them doing this and cutting back forcing me to brake. My response was to pull into lane 2, draw up next to them in in 5th gear, know they were looking across before putting it into 3rd and sailing off. But as I say, the passat has ended that and so has my son being inthe car with me
  15. Gavin, great stuff and chuffed for you matey.
  16. Not all of us could slightly press the go pedel and hit 100 in 10 seconds though Mr Potter lol Had to drive like a tool to keep up with craggsy a few times I used a miltek decat on mine for a while. Noticed decreased restriction but driving like a prat quite a lot of the time, my wallet and mpg did suffer.
  17. I'm quite surprised at the sheer lack of rubbish driving I've witnessed in the past couple of weeks..... usually 5+ examples on each trip. The only bug bear I keep experiencing at the moment are the turds on entry slip roads to D/C's or M'ways. Sit in lane 2 and by the time we're entering, they've blocked you from making progress on the slip road and you/they join at around 40 - 45mph..... but they just slot in front of traffic travelling faster and FORCE them to brake hard.
  18. Sorry bout the wrong figures Mr Potter. Unsure as to how 169 entered my head.
  19. Ive only ever hit 103 @ santa pod. I know Mr Potter has hit 169 with a nice big turbo slapped on his.
  20. 4 break ins sorry, not 7. Why aee they doing in takeaways? Most of my neighbours need zimmers to walk and stand so there'd be no gatherings lol. As for those caught rioting, prison, no tv, internet or phone calls, just lots of hard labour and regular beatings with bars. Anyone having seen russian prisons and army training will no what i mean.
  21. Same thoughts really. My concen is while this happens, lack of local police will encourage local domestic burglaries. Our street had 7 break ins and 2 cars stolen last night.
  22. This is the issue. Stock exhausts have more grunt at lower revs and lower on the speedo. Bigger exhausts with no boxes lose the lower end pull but unlock the higher end power... supposedly. It is noticable, the power gains are higher up in each gear but like it has been said, you generally forfeit torque. Mine was put on a rolling road with a stock aftermarket exhaust and had 183 bhp and 206 f/lbs torque. I should imagine a strait through would put the bhp into the 190s and bring the torque into the 190s too. I could be wrong.
  23. Buy some ear plugs and depending on your local plod, be prepared to be pulled regularly. Id also look up on an S59 that you could get issued. Only giving advice. Mine was decat strait through for a year. Louder and better at higher revs... im sure it lost a small bit of low range pulling power though.
