matty.vrt got a reaction from DonLotto in Matty's Golf mk4 R32 Turbo 4 motion
Hi all,
I have been a member on here now for over 8 years now.
I have learned lots from different members on here, from my first supercharger build to my last turbo build this site has been an invaluable source of information.
My intention has always been to write a build thread to help inspire others as I have been inspired from reading many build threads on here.
Anyway here is my project car.
Its a 2000 W reg 2.8 24v 4 motion with 18x8J Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's
With plans for big power in the future I decided to upgrade the seats to save weight and help hold me in on the twisties.
Next up was coilovers. This time I decided that I wanted the car to handle as well as look good so I went for Gaz Gold height, damper and rebound adjustable.
And now for the turbo parts.
JE 8.5:1 .5 oversized pistons
Tool steel piston pins
Garrett GTX4202R with 1.15 T4 divided (twin scroll) housing and 4" v band discharge
Twin Tial MVS wastegates
Aeromotive belt dirve fuel pump. Good for 1800bhp on methanol
Sp turbo oil filter housing ready to run air/oil cooler and ensures clean oil supply to the turbo
Corvette Z06 90mm DBW throttle body against stock vr6 12v item
Crank girdle to help hold it all together.
The engine is now fully built so I will add the build photo's shortly.

More updates
Car is now done
On the truck home
To say I’m happy with the finish is an understatement. When I picked the colour asked on the fact the Skyline R34 GTR is a dream car of mine I never imagined it would look so good on the golf.

matty.vrt reacted to KIRAN_VRT in MK4 V6 4Motion Turbo Build
Hi all
I was a corrado man from a young age and after breaking my rado vrt I'm now going for the next build.with my old daily mk4
she was a well speced straight car so why not turbo it
I then decided on a costly full repaint with Bentley
I currently have the suspension, brakes, clutch and head spacer fitted.
now it's engine bay plumbing and not long to go
Just thought I would share with you all and see if people can help where it's need and hopefully I can return the favour to those who need help
looming for 500 bhp and considering I'm using a gt35 turbo with all supporting mods I don't see why this is not achievable
here are the repaint pics and current state of the bay
I'm hoping to get a lot further over Easter. I now know that when you settle down these things can take bloody long, so long I was considering selling up but I'm trying to keep the faith lol.
I will update the post with more pics towards the end of month .

Went to pay Jamie a visit at Unitsixteeenautomotive the other day.
First Is the interior stripped. A leaking water fitting on my chargecooler has made the boot floor a little rusty .
Happy it is looking a lot different now
More updates next week week when the outside gets painted

Monster spec! You'll have to keep it stock looking and take it out on the road to embarrass some supercars!
I think these guys do all the big hp box work over in Germany, some of the 8 second lot reference them; https://www.facebook.com/doc.drehmoment.official 5/6th gear supports and billet shafts etc seem to crop up now and again and on the German forums.
Have you got or are getting a harmonic damper too?

New track rods
More powdercoating
New driveshafts from VW
Nice to see it all coming together
At this point I just wanted to get the car back together and running. So it was a quick clean of the brake calipers and back on. I will probably get these refurbished next winter.
Mount made for my Talon switch panel. Total newb at fabrication if you can call it that but good fun anyway.
400bhp NX Express wet kit just in case
Car loaded up and on the way to the dyno
Car made 555bhp on wastegate springs which is enough to run it in and zero modifications to the standard DRP gearbox.
My Dad loves the wood but I think it has to go
After lots of thought SQS or DonOctane decided to go for something purpose made and best of all UK made.
Time to come apart again
Lots and lots of Fing and blinding late the gearbox was out with the engine and transfer box still in position. Entirely possible but definitely yanking the engine next time.
New guest has settled in nicely
Turbo to charge cooler pipe powder coated after a few little tweaks
Had a few issues on the dyno with pipes blowing off and overheating due to air locks so re-introduced an expansion bottle back in the system.
Found a local guy to paint the car so decided on House of Kolor ‘Jet set back’ and lots of clear and colour sanding. Seen it on the tv a bunch so fancy myself a nice paint job. On area I’ve never paid a lot of attention to.

Received some more pictures from my painter today.
I think the car is looking amazing considering that is straight out of the gun.
Can’t wait to see it polished with all the panels back on

Awesome update

My dream would be to do this with a Rallye but had this car for 7 years so the base was basically free.
