Eastern Convoy to the Owners Club meet
Ben Seabrook replied to Ben Seabrook's topic in Previous Events
Good stuff Vento - not sure which way we will go yet - open for suggestions Personally I was thinking us lads from Norwich go down the A11 then A14 to Cambs to collect the other fellas then along A428 all the way to Northampton - think that should be the quickest way - can meet you anywhere along the way :-p Do you know if anyone else from Essex is coming along ?? Ben -
Excellent - going to be good to put some names to screen names :-p Am organising with goonersteve a bit of a convoy from the east across so if you know of anyone from that side of the country who is coming or thinking about coming let them know we are planning it - the thread is in South Events See you then Ben :-d

Lots of drinking and chatting' date=' including advice for new owners and almost definalty a VAG-COM or two. It's our first do so will be much more of a meet than a show, although we will have a few trophies to hand out. The main principle, for this first one at least, is to put faces to names and to make the club feel more phyisical rather than being a virtual internet thingy. We are hoping to lay on some form of entertainment . MkIVsUK are also there that weekend and I think have a band booked, but we are a) not that flushed with cash and not that organized. We will have BBQs for everyone

Lambda and plug leads !!!!
Ben Seabrook replied to Ben Seabrook's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Cheers Gav, Will avoid the GSF ones then !!! After a bit of searching on here have found that most people seem to recommend the Magnecor ones so going to get a set of those. Just to need to know about the Lambda sensor now Ben -
Hi peeps, Need to pick your brains yet again !!! I had a couple of running issues with my car and was advised by the garage that the Lambda sensor is not responding quickly and that it needs new plug leads. So I have found the following sensor http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_LB1062.html - does this look ok and is it an ok price ?? Regarding the plug leads was just going to order some standard ones from GSF unless anyone thinks purchasing some better quality ones would be worth it ?? Your help/advice is appreciated. Cheers Ben

Excellent - Goonersteve - for sure mate :-p TheGoth - quality as we pass right through it would be rude not to pick you up :-d cabrioman - I'm sure we can arrange a point somewhere - maybe meet you in Cambs with TheGoth ?? Right so come on the rest of you - some of you Essex lads must be up for this The more the merrier -
Course we all care Wish mine was a 3 door, the dragon green ones are so cool but I had to settle for a 5 :-( How come she is not perfect ???
-
Right I have been speaking to goonersteve (cheers mate ) and while there seems to be plenty of people coming from all over the country there seems to be a lack of us from the mighty east of England travelling to this event so ...... we decided that we would start a thread encouraging all of you to join us in what will be a wicked few hours in convoy halfway across this great nation of ours !!!! So anyone in Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambs, Essex or on route who fancies coming to this event ( and who wouldn't :-p ) put your name down here and we can organise to travel over in one glorious VW convoy
-
So how come we all ended up with this passion for VR6's in all their shapes and sizes ?? I know looking at car history threads that loads of people have had plenty of VW's in the past but equal numbers have not. For me it was simple, I love VW's but also wanted something a bit special and that went like stink :-p for not huge amounts of cash. I was introduced to the VR6 by a mate who let me take his out for a test and that was that So how did your fascination begin ???
-
That is a very good price - wish i had used your garage !!! :-( However they did do a very good job and it has been running so much better ever since.
-
Had mine done about 8 months ago by a local VW specialist and cost me nearly £1000 :-( However I got quoted about £1500 from VW themselves !!!! So my advice would be to shop around and not go to VW also several people I phoned did not want to work on a VR6 !!! claiming it was too complicated - honest but a bit worrying :S
-
Cars ?? what cars ?? Looks like a great show
-
Will be up for this - what date do you have in mind ???
